MMGY & United Nations World Tourism Organization Partner to Support Women's Empowerment

Tourism is a leading industry in terms of the share of women employed, and The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is persistently committed to enhancing the positive impact of tourism on women’s lives. In doing so, they seek to contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5: “achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.”

In order to demonstrate how tourism contributes to women’s empowerment, MMGY Global produced a video for UNWTO’s year-round campaigns to support and advocate for women and tourism programs.

“MMGY Global shares our commitment to achieve gender equality, understands our mission to bring gender issues to the forefront of the tourism sector and did not hesitate to offer its support,” said UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili.

“Women empowerment is vital to sustainable development and the realization of human rights for all. Promoting equality will speed up the progress toward true economic sustainability and inclusive societies. Effective communication of these goals is key to achieving them and in this we are delighted to count on the expertise and support of MMGY Global,” he added.

Comparatively, CEO of MMGY Global Clayton Reid said, “MMGY Global and its international marketing alliance, Travel Consul, have been an active affiliate member of UNWTO since 2016 and we are committed to supporting its work on equality and human rights. MMGY Global benefits richly from its own truly exceptional female professionals, and we feel strongly that the contribution of women to our global industry should be recognized and promoted at every level. We are proud to have collaborated with UNWTO to help disseminate this message worldwide.”
