Frost Flight Lands in Chicago

Trey Stanley

With so many direct flights this winter from Chicago to Fort Myers, who wouldn’t want to get away and play where it’s warmer? That’s why The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel developed an immersive, interactive 3D game called "Frost Flight.” A custom branded kiosk was placed in a high-traffic area of The Shops at North Bridge off Michigan Avenue for five weeks, plus two weeks at O'Hare International Airport. Over 10,000 people played the game, flying Sandy the animated pelican from the cold winter of Chicago to the warm and sunny beaches of Southwest Florida.

Using geofencing techniques within a five-mile radius, we targeted Chicagoans nearby with display creative that guided them to play the game and enter our sweepstakes. The campaign received average weekly initial activations of 1,647, which surpassed comparable campaigns by at least 100 percent.
